Some basic principles: you don’t want your work too thick or heavy. You don’t want the surfaces messy, you want them clean. It’s good to taper the bottom. Think curvy and elegant.
If you can’t make a vessel tall enough, you can make two and join them together. If you do it at the widest point, that’s also the most vulnerable.
You can use a special heater/blow drier to speed the drying process for increased strength and rigidity.
